Capturing the excitement of London 2012, Sportivate is a nationwide Legacy 2012 campaign directly targeted at inactive young people. The main aim is to provide an attractive and broad range of opportunities in sport across Birmingham communities, so that these young people can discover a sport they will love and become more physically active.
Sportivate provides funding to community organisations to enable them to offer and deliver six to eight weeks of any sporting activity to inactive young people between the ages of 11 and 25 years old.
Participants are able to choose the sports they would like to take part in, regardless of their ability, disability and learning difficulties.
Each project is set up with clearly defined 'exit routes' so the young people have the opportunity to continue with the sport once the project is finished.
