Active Lives Survey
Sport England launched the new school-based Active Lives Survey for Children and Young People in September 2017 to measure participation in sport and physical activity among children in school years 1 to 11.
For more information specifically around the background of the survey please see Sport England's website link below:

How Does it Apply to Birmingham?
As the Active Partnership for Birmingham, we are tasked by Sport England to get in touch with 8 or 9 pre-selected schools in the city each term to take part in the survey.
If you are one of the pre-selected schools, we will contact you via your Headteacher and a lead of PE within your school (if this is obvious from your website). If you receive contact please follow the instructions detailed and we will start the process of conducting the survey with you.
The Department for Education released information in July 2019 about the new Healthy Schools Rating Scheme for schools in England. Completion of the Active Lives Children Survey will allow your school to be given a rating for the physical activity element of the Healthy Schools Rating Scheme.
If you haven't been pre-selected and would like your school to take part then please get in touch with Jayne Piller at jayne.piller@sportbirmingham.org
Pre-selected Schools
Pre-selected schools will be asked to conduct the survey with 1 class from around 2 or 3 year groups. The year groups are also pre-selected and we have to choose the class, you as a school cannot choose the year group or class that the survey is administered to.
