Some years ago, Tahir had recognised a need to change his lifestyle, to become more active, lose weight, and reverse the effects of sedentary behaviour.
Fast-forward to the present day, and Tahir is fit, healthy and happy. Encouraged by others to take up running, and play football and squash, he is now responsible for communicating those very same messages to inactive communities across Birmingham.

The Dery Foundation has been running for 4 years consisting of 8 staff based in Small Heath. The foundation works with people from all backgrounds within the local area but especially in helping with a number of challenges faced by the Somalian Community.
