Welcome to the September update from T.E.A.M Birmingham.
Since our last newsletter there have been a lot of developments around Birmingham's bid to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Having been named England's Candidate City ahead of Liverpool, there is a lot of work currently taking place to ensure the overall bid is successful.
Birmingham continues to host a range of other major events and this coming weekend, the 23rd and 24th September, sees Velo Birmingham, Birmingham Weekender and the Archery GB Series Final all taking place in the City Centre. It promises to be a fantastic weekend in the city and thank you to all those who are giving up their time to volunteer.
The Birmingham International Marathon and Great Birmingham Run are both approaching and volunteer recruitment for these events is now open. Taking place on Sunday 15th October, the Birmingham International Marathon starts from Alexander Stadium in the morning with the Great Birmingham Run taking place starting from the City Centre in the afternoon. Further details are available in the attached newsletter.
The attached update also gives further information on the volunteer programme for the IAAF World Indoor Championships, taking place in Birmingham from the 1st – 4th March 2018. Applications are being accepted until the 29th September and can be made by visiting the address below:
