How can you ensure that the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has a positive impact on your school and the health and wellbeing of children and staff.

An event delivered by the Birmingham 2022 Learning Programme and United by Birmingham 2022 partner, Sport Birmingham.

Event Details

This conference is for senior leaders from all schools in Birmingham, and is free of charge to attend

  • Date: Wednesday 7th March
  • Time: 12noon - 3.30pm
  • Venue: Edgbaston Stadium

The event will include keynotes from the Birmingham 2022 team, covering the upcoming Games as well as a presentation from the Birmingham 2022 Learning Programme about how schools can maximise the impact of the Games for their children.

The conference will also include an update on Sport Birmingham's Pathway to Podium programme, covering information to support whole school engagement to PE, School Sport, and Physical Activity.

There will be a selection of discussion based workshops in the second half of the conference based around the topics below:

Each workshop will be facilitated by a specialist for that topic, but will be interactive.

  • Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical Activity; focussing on whole school improvement.
  • Supporting children's mental health (through movement) as we merge from the pandemic.
  • Opportunities for Out Of Hours learning, including Holiday Activities Fund.
  • The value of cultural opportunities for pupil wellbeing.

Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
