The event will also follow hot on the heels of the TISSOT UCI Track World Cup in London which, in a global first, will see para-events take place – another significant step forward for para-cycling.

On show at the Manchester Para-Cycling International will be the full range of para-cycling track events, which cater for

individuals with cerebral palsy, visual impairments and physical impairments, competing on either single or tandem bikes. Athletes are categorised, and the categories are broken down as follows:

  • C1-C5 is for athletes with cerebral palsy, amputees and other conditions who can ride a bike.
  • B is for visually impaired cyclists who compete on tandem bikes with a pilot.
