This qualification is designed to provide learners with an introduction to teaching/training.

What does the qualification cover?
It is a knowledge-based teaching qualification which has no minimum teaching practice requirement, and therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not currently in a teaching role. However, there is a minimum requirement to take part in microteaching. The qualification is composed of one mandatory unit and two optional groups containing various optional units, of which one must be selected from each group.

Learners that attend this qualification are likely to be seeking opportunities in the further education and skills sector. It also attracts aspiring tutors of vocational coaching courses.
What's the format?
This qualification involves face to face tutored delivery and completion of portfolio tasks. Learners are also required to deliver and be observed in a real work environment.
What will be assessed?
-Complete a series of written tasks
-Deliver and be observed in a real work environment
Prior to registration learners are required to:
-be accurately identified
-be 19 years of age or over
-be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing)
This qualification can help learners to progress in teaching/training and support roles in a wide range of organisations in the education and training sector. These include; Public sector organisations, Private sector organisations, Further Education, Adult and Community Education
