SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming - Online Learning

This blended learning course will allow you to complete the theoretical elements of your Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification online through interactive activities, which will be assessed as you work through the course. This will be followed by a practical assessment at an appropriate time.

SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming - Online Learning

The specialist online learning is split into bite-sized pieces, so you don't have to do it all in one go. This will mean you can work through the course online at home, at your own pace, over the coming weeks. You will be able to start your online learning as soon as you book on to this course.

You will be invited to join one or more of the optional webinars below. The webinar is an opportunity to ask any questions and share your experience of the training so far with your tutor and others who have begun their online training.

  • 14th May - 9:30 to 10:30
  • 27th May - 09:30 to 12:30
  • 28th May - 09:30 to 12:30
  • 11th June - 09:30 to 12:30

Course content

The course is delivered through a mixture of online learning, webinars, classroom activities and practical poolside learning. You will participate in at least six 30-minute swimming lessons to gain hands-on practical experience.

You will learn about:

  • The responsibilities and role of a swimming teacher
  • How the scientific principles of swimming impact on development
  • How to develop core aquatic skills and the four strokes
  • How to identify and correct common swimming faults
  • How to use a variety of teaching techniques and equipment to suit different needs
  • How to plan and deliver inclusive lessons for different levels of ability, including adaptations for swimmers with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Key teaching and management skills including class management and assessment, organisational skills, behaviour management, communication skills, and teaching methods
  • National curriculum swimming lessons and how they differ from learn to swim lessons

Course fees

To allow as many people to start training during these exceptional times, we are splitting the course fee into two separate payments.

When you start the course and begin your online learning, you will only have to pay £272.

Once the leisure centres reopen and we can book your four practical days, we will then arrange your final payment of £408.
