FREE Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity+ Training Codes

Last week saw Men’s Mental Health Month draw to a close. November, or “Movember” as it is now often referred to, is dedicated to raising awareness and helping to tackle prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health and suicide.

To help continue this momentum and to continue to raise awareness of these topics; mental health and suicide in particular, the Mind West Midlands Physical Activity Network are making 300 FREE Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity+ training codes available for clubs and organisations across the region.

This e-learning (which usually costs £12.00), consists of four modules which will help increase knowledge and understanding of mental health, providing the practical skills and strategies to be able to:

  • build people’s resilience, self-esteem and confidence
  • adapt sessions to make them more inclusive
  • enable and support mental health recovery, and
  • tackle stigma and discrimination.

You are able to download a certificate of completion upon finishing the course, and the course has been awarded 1.5 CPD points by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).

Each Active Partnership from across the region (Sport Birmingham, Think Active, Active Black Country, Together Active, Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Active Herefordshire & Worcestershire) will have 50 codes to give away to clubs and organisations that are delivering community sport and physical activity.
