Funding for integrated communities
Posted: Mon, 23 Jul 2018 16:04
Sport England, working in partnership with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, are inviting applications to the new Integrated Communities Innovation Fund.
They are inviting organisations to come forward with innovative ideas to encourage integration using sport and physical activity.
The fund will support approaches which address the breadth of factors which can lead to poor integration:
- The level and pace of migration
- School segregation
- Residential segregation
- Labour market disadvantage
- Lack of English language proficiency
- Personal, religious, cultural norms, values and attitudes
- Lack of meaningful social mixing.
The total budget is £7m. There is no set minimum or maximum grant level and funding is available for 2018/19 and 2019/20.
They are interested in supporting projects that can be scaled up to reach a minimum of 300 participants within the funding period.
The funding is for revenue costs only although equipment up to the value of £10K will be considered to be revenue expenditure. Projects focusing on sports, must be recognised by Sport England and align with Sport England's strategic aims.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 20 August 2018 (23:45).
