Europod 2019: Four Years In!

Sport Birmingham were delighted to host the 2019 edition of the Europod exchange programme earlier this month.
This year's exchange saw approximately 160 young people from Birmingham, Lyon and Frankfurt participate in a range of sporting activities, cultural visits and social activities to develop their personal skills, such as team work, communication and problem solving.
Our visitors were welcomed by a bright, sunny week to showcase Birmingham in its best light and the highlights of the week included a Europod activity day at Heart of England Conference Centre and an Official Reception hosted by the Lord Mayor at Birmingham Council House.
The Europod exchange, now in its 11th year and with Birmingham's involvement now stretching to 4 years, aims to bring together young people from the three twinned cities to develop their wider understanding of different cultures and languages. For many of our visitors this was their first visit to England and for almost all it was their first visit to Birmingham.
We would like to thank the volunteers from the sports clubs in Birmingham who hosted their partner clubs this year – Revolution Gymnastics Club, Erdington Judo Club, Bidgley Power Foundation, Birmingham Hippodrome, Sutton Coldfield Rifle and Pistol Club, Continental Star FC and Continental Star Table Tennis Club.
Looking forward, the exchange next year will take place in Frankfurt and we would welcome and encourage any sports clubs that wish to be involved to complete the expression of interest form - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Europod2020-22
