Over 40 people will be facing their fears and abseiling 200ft down the Holiday Inn Express (Snow Hill) on Sunday 20th October. Event Organiser Keith Fraser, retired Police Superintendent and Board Member for the Youth Justice Board and Sport Birmingham, is also one of our abseilers and is rallying both charities together. The two chosen causes are Birmingham Inclusive Sports Fest and Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid.
With just under 2 days to go the abseilers are still fundraising. Over £12,000 has been raised already and the fundraising continues!
Paralympic Judo Athlete, Chris Skelly has already raised over £400. Chris has been doing Judo for 20 years and 7 years as a Paralympic Athlete. He wants to raise awareness for the two charities and show you can overcome your challenges. He has vision and hearing impairment, and is a great advocate for inclusive sports in Birmingham.
Barrington, Nathan and Jules are also taking part in the abseil. English former kickboxer MMA Barrington aka 'One eye Baz' wants to raise money for Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid to gain awareness and support women against domestic abuse. These athletes are taking the challenge together. They have raised an impressive £1600 all through the power of social media. They have hit their targets and are continuing to fundraise.
