Sam Payne: Children and Young People Manager

Sam Payne: Children and Young People Manager

Children and Young People Officer

Sam is responsible for coordinating The Daily Mile across Birmingham. This role involves working closely with the city's primary schools to enable the delivery of self-paced running or jogging within curriculum time. Sam has developed a number of resources for this role, all of which enable primary school children to be part of the build up to the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Sam also works on the newly launched Children and Young People Field Lab project which forms part of the Birmingham and Solihull Local Delivery Pilot. Here Sam is working to build relationships in the culturally divers area of Balsall Heath (Sparkbrook) with the aim of providing a bespoke physical activity offer for under 15 year olds in the community.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys participating in outdoor sports, exploring in his campervan, and all forms of carbohydrate.
