FITCAP are a non-profitable organisation based in Birmingham that aim to bring joy into children's life through sports and play.
MAD Birmingham are partnered with FITCAP in the East of Birmingham.
FITCAP encourages positivity in children's life which then reduces the negative struggles that young people face in the community such as homelessness, poverty, abuse, and crime.
Anti-social behaviour is the highest recorded crime in Birmingham currently. FITCAP are helping the young people of the community become more socially active and engaged reducing these problems.
The most beneficial and important part of FITCAP is the love and care they have for their young people.
An eleven month baby named Bunny, who's sister had previously attended FITCAP, unfortunately passed away.
Sadly, the family could not afford to pay for a headstone and were devastated.
FITCAP and the community came together and arranged for a fundraising event. This event took place 8th July 2018 and involved a friendly football match and a fair.
Dean Prentice, Sports Co-ordinator at FITCAP, said:
"We are very appreciative of all the support of the local community and organisations who supported Bunnys day. Thank you to Anne-Marie and Mandy who are Managers of Fitcap Nursury and invested much of their time with the family. In total we raised as much money as possible in order to towards funeral expenses for the family. Going forward we will continue to make this a annual event to remember Bunny and celebrate the spirit and affection of an incredible young girl."
Collectively they raised £900 and the family were able to pay for the headstone!

Here at Nechells Wellbeing Centre, the kids are keeping active and sociable with our youth engagement officers, Jeavon and Leon.
Every week day of Easter half term, 12-4pm, we have been running these sessions for kids to come along free of charge.
