Bishop Challoner School Volunteering Opportunities

Bishop Challoner Secondary School are looking for volunteers to support them during local Primary, Secondary and Special schools School Games competition events. There is a calendar of events to get involved in across the academic year. Keeping competitive sport at the heart of schools and providing more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best, School Games comprises of both Intra and Inter-school competitions leading to County Finals.

Bishop Challoner School Volunteering Opportunities

If you have a knowledge or an interest in:

  • Time Keeping;
  • Taking Event Photos;
  • Capturing data and Results;
  • Or working in a PE school environment;

Then this is an ideal opportunity to develop those skills. These events take place in a youth lead setting and aim to deliver a memorable sporting experience for the children and young people involved.

Training is available where applicable and an initial face to face meet would take place, along with an introduction to School Games.

Due to the nature of working with children and young people, a DBS check will be required and can be arranged once you are certain that this opportunity is suitable for you. There will be the opportunity to speak with the lead staff member and to observe / try out some of the sessions, in order for you to make this informed decision.

Who you will be working with
Working alongside school staff and Sport Birmingham staff at the level 3 competitions, your role(s) will support the School Games events in delivering a memorable and fun experience for the children and young people taking part in the competitions.
What specific tasks would you be doing
Tasks will include: - Timekeeping - Event Photo Imagery - Capturing Data and Results - Supporting Young Leaders (Officiating) Training can be provided for those who can commit to the roles.
